WE LOVE PINK! PINK PUNCH AND MARCH ON Pink is awesome. It has a rich history and nothing but positive associations, unlike other colors that can have both positive and negative associations. WHEN I THINK OF PINK... In survey, pink is the color most associated with charm, politeness, sensitivity, tenderness, sweetness, softness, childhood, the feminine, and the romantic. It is also sometimes associated with extravagance and a wish to be noticed. WHAT’S IN A NAME? The color pink is named after flowers named, you guessed it – Pinks! SPRING HAS SPRUNG! Move over green. In Japan, pink is the color associated with springtime due to the blooming cherry blossoms. SO SWEET. Pink is the color most associated with sweet foods and beverages. POLLINATE ME. Insects and birds think pink is sexy. Just ask flowers. Pink is one of the most common colors of flowers attracting the animals needed for pollination. There is just something about the color pink! It has strong associations across cultures, in art, architecture, fashion, and nature. It makes people feel a certain way. It is unapologetically feminine, and that’s powerful! Elizabeth Arden thought so too. She saw the value in the powerfully feminine appeal of pink. In 1910, when she was getting ready to open her first spa on 5th avenue, she chose a pink damask fabric for the walls. She felt that pink reflected a flattering light on the room and the people in it. It became her signature color, and a trademark in her salons and packaging. At one time over 50 shades of Elizabeth Arden lipstick were pink! 4 Why all the fuss over pink?
