                    Use of tail lifts
Provision of general tail lift operating instructions as detailed below

               1. If you are unfamiliar with the tail lift operation for your assigned vehicle, please

see your Operations Manager who will brief you accordingly.
               2. If you have any fault or problem with the tail lift please enter the defect on the

driver’s vehicle defect report. Do not under any circumstances attempt any
                   repair yourself.

               3. When preparing to carry out a tail lift delivery ensure that there is ample room to
lower the tail lift and manoeuvre the pallet on the pallet truck. Ensure vehicle

                   parking brake is fully applied.

               4. Do not operate tail lift if vehicle is on a slope in any direction
               5. Locate the tail lift operating key in the battery switch and turn on.

               6. Release the manual locking security pin in the platform.

               7. Before opening the platform make sure the operation area is clear.
               8. If you are working with a tuck away tail lift fully lower the tail lift (using the

controls in the outside panel) and unfold the tail lift.
               9. If you have a cantilever tail lift move the platform to the horizontal position

ensuring it is safe to do so
               10. Move the operation switch anti clockwise to enable the internal controls to be

                   enabled.

               11. Use any safety equipment supplied with the vehicle. Ensure the tail lift platform
                   is level

               12. Stand on tail lift ensuring you are securely balanced and raise the tail lift to
                   vehicle floor height.

               13. Once the tail lift is level with the vehicle floor check that the pallet check plates
                   are in position.

               14. Maneuver the pallet/bin onto the platform and make sure that it is clear of the

edge of the vehicle body. Lower the pallet onto the platform to stop it moving
whilst you operate the tail lift.

               15. Ensuring you are securely balanced lower the tail lift after checking that it is safe

to do so and that the area is clear of obstruction.
               16. Pump up and remove the pallet from the tail lift platform.

               17. Once the delivery is complete, return the pallet trucks and reload them securing
