“I see a bright future in collaborating for better value in ways that are not threatening and do not impair local control over the heart of what we each do best.”

Start with Why
J. Benjamin Unkle, Jr. CEO Westminster-Canterbury on Chesapeake Bay & Senior Options, LLC
We are pleased with the growth of Senior Options and how we have been able to empower our partners to add new service lines with much less risk, higher margins, and more bandwidth preserved for senior partners to focus on their day jobs. In the end, older adults win by having more predictable quality and lower costs when we find ways
to standardize and share back-office services while retaining our individual ministries and personalities.
I am convinced we all benefit from greater collaboration. We do not need to be at the mercy of other competitors, nor difficult economic times, if we manage our resources in the best manner, holding onto and strengthening each organization’s unique mission.
I see a bright future in collaborating for better value in ways that are not threatening and do not impair local control over the heart of what we each do best. I hope we can all discover more ways of collaborating.
Dr. Nancy King President Senior Options, LLC & Westminster Canterbury at Home
In September, we welcomed administrators,
clinical leaders and outreach liaisons from our partners
to the annual Senior Options operations retreat. What an impressive and unique group! These folks are eager to learn, dedicated to quality and all connected to a nonprofit senior living community.
It made me think about the value of a network like Senior Options. Of course value can be found with our significant group purchasing discounts, shared services and educational opportunities. But another value of our Senior Options network is the ability to create a space for home care and hospice leaders to connect with and learn from each other and share best practices. Even though our 14 agencies are in various stages of development, they can find ways to share support, practical strategies and fellowship.
We know that quality, stewardship and growth are all generated by the same thing – strong, effective leaders who continually look for ways to bring out the best in their teams.
