Awards and recognition were presented at the Artist’s Reception on June 9 at the Visitor Center. Since there were
only five entries in the Teen Category, no contest judging was conducted. Voting for the Teens “People’s Choice
Award” competition was held during the June 9 reception with Kyle Burt for “Raven’s Roost” being awarded a
$25 Gift Certificate to Elements Gift Store.
The Friends of Red Rock Canyon 2013 Visions of Red Rock calendar made its official début at the Artist’s
Reception Ceremony. Artists submitted electronic versions of their contest entries to be considered for
inclusion in the 2013 calendar. The Selection Committee reviewed over 60 artist submitted photos for
qualities such as seasonal appropriateness, wildlife diversity, unique landscapes and creativity. They selected
14 images for publication in our 2013 Visions of Red Rock calendar.
The American-made calendar, priced at $15 ($12.75 for Friends members), is now available for sale on-line
