       Dear Friends Members,

Happy New Year to everyone! I hope you had a very enjoyable Holiday season and were able to spend some time
with family and friends. Friends of Red Rock Canyon has a full calendar of events for the coming year.

The Bureau of Land Management, Friends and Red Rock Canyon Interpretive Association recently met for a day
long planning meeting. The three partner organizations went through the upcoming year and compiled a monthly
calendar for all 2013 events. As a result, everyone at Red Rock Canyon can plan and work together to make each
       event successful.

Highlights of the coming year include the restoration of Red Springs boardwalk, Friends Annual Appreciation
and Awards Banquet in February, multiple community volunteer events such as Red Rock Day, National Trails

Day, National Public Lands Day and Make a Difference Day, plus quarterly volunteer appreciation social events.
As you can see, Friends has a full calendar for the year. I hope all of you will plan to participate in many of these
events so Friends and our partners can continue to "Preserve and Protect Red Rock Canyon."

Hope to see you at the annual banquet.
