NOTICE: A minimum passing grade of 70% must be achieved on each exam.
Grades are NOT averaged, so to fail one exam will require the re-taking of that exam in
order to pass any given Study Course and ultimately, to earn your degree.
FIELDS OF STUDY
The General Fields of Study (study majors) are limited to the list below. However, within the “General
Degree” a student may declare his/her “Emphasis” such as “Pastoral” or “Doctrinal” and students may
request that their degree certificates will state that emphasis - -
EXAMPLE: “Bachelor in Christian Ministry with Pastoral Emphasis”

• BIBLICAL STUDIES – the study of major Scriptural themes and the main topics of the Sacred
Scriptures. Courses dealing with various doctrines of the Word of God; that which is devoted to the
fundamental beliefs of the Holy Bible.

• CHRISTIAN MINISTRY – general instructions in Christianity and the study of the doctrines of
Christ. Training in the teachings of Jesus Christ and the development of Christian Character.

• THEOLOGY–the study of God and the expounding of Christology; Courses dealing with the
relationship between God and the universe and man; the cultivation of the theological virtues of
faith, hope, and charity.

NOTE: While a number of our courses relate to Biblical counseling, these are included only in order
to provide a foundational understanding of Biblical counseling that would be needed in
ministry work such as Pastoral Ministry.

THBI does not offer degrees in Christian Biblical or Pastoral Counseling as these require
advanced studies in technique with instruction in legal considerations that T.H.B.I. does not
offer. There are several good resources for Biblical Counseling Training available and if you
are called into this field, we will gladly assist you in connecting with an excellent organization
for Biblical Counseling training.

The True Hope Bible Institute offers four levels of degrees:

1. Bachelor 3. Doctorate
2. Masters 4. Honorary Doctoral
THBI also offers a Ministry Ordination Study Program.

➢ This is not a degree per se but is a concentrated field of study with the singular purpose of students
being granted a ministry credential of ordination from True Hope Ministries of America upon
successful completion of the program.
PROGRESSIVE LEVELS OF DEGREES

A degree is an academic title conferred by an institution of higher learning showing that a person has
satisfactorily completed a particular program of study. The certificate is the actual document stating what
degree has been earned by the student.
