Sector K9 Foundation / Law Enforcement
Organization
By Wes Keeling
y name is Wes Keeling and I am the Founder of Sector K9 Foundation, I am a 15-year
veteran Police Officer. I spent 13 years in the Criminal Interdiction side of the Law
MEnforcement, and the last several years with a K9. I am a certified Police K9 Trainer,
Instructor, TCOLE licensed instructor, and has created, and assisted in creating multiple K9
Units all over the country.
Our training director is Garland Wolf, who is an active Police Chief with 28 years of Law
Enforcement experience. Garland is a certified K9 instructor, trainer, TCOLE licensed instructor
and holds forty (40) different instructor certifications on varying topics.
This article is written to inform you of our programs and update important information from our
previous article that was printed in the 2019 January/February issue of the Texas Police
Journal, and how we have evolved over the past years. Sector K9 transitioned from a LLC to a
non-profit foundation (Sector K9 Foundation) with the intention of being able to serve more law
enforcement agencies and save more animals' lives. Our most popular program is our
Donation program. This program allows us to donate a Police K9 of any discipline, to Law
Enforcement agencies around the country.
We are concentrating on shelter dogs for single purpose Detection K9ʼs, we can also add
tracking to most of these dogs. Our dual purpose K9ʼs that are selected from overseas or our
vendors in the USA can be trained in detection and apprehension with a tracking or trailing
certification. We pride ourselves on the amount of training the dog receives, but also the
amount of training the handler receives. We further pride ourselves on our accessibility to the
department day or night 24/7/365 and to the handlers after their initial training, as the process
of continuous training does not end with the conclusion of the training class. We are Law
Enforcement Officers and we know what it is like to conduct a narcotics search on the
highway/roadway during all hours of the day and night in the field. When you choose Sector
K9 you choose a committed team with the passion, desire and zeal to help you be your best.
We also know what it's like to track a violent suspect through heavy terrain with a helicopter
hovering above, we know what it is like to work, train, and maintain all disciplines of K9 and the
countless hours needed to hone the team's abilities. We understand the dangers, stresses, and
the training to achieve success as a K9 Team.
