TPA Region 2 Director’s Report
by Craig Cummings
In July, TPA members in the Houston area were invited to a private
museum in Waller County. There, they stepped back in time and looked
at the items on display, from muscle cars to fossils. The speaker at the
event, a doctor and the Founder and CEO of Sigma Tactical Wellness,
which focuses on law enforcement heart health, talked about his
company’s groundbreaking research with those attending.
Texas Department of Public Safety Lieutenant Craig Cummings, the
newly appointed Houston Regional Director for the Texas Police
Association and the FBI National Academy Associates of Texas held the
luncheon at the Hemi Hideout, about an hour west of Houston in
Pattison, to bring members of both organizations together for
networking, fellowship, friendship, and learning.
The venue undoubtedly captured the attention of the members in
attendance. From the neon signs dotting the walls and ceiling, to fast
cars from the golden age of American muscle, and the many decades-
old John Deere tractors, along with relics of Americana, there was
plenty for everyone to see. As the members walked around, it was easy
to see how this profession leads to lifelong friendships as several
gathered to take pictures together and reminisce about times past.
After everyone had a chance to check out the many items on display,
Elixir Catering of Katy served an exceptional lunch, which included
desserts.
Then, the CEO of Sigma Tactical Wellness, Dr. Ben Stone, Ph.D., an
expert in cardiovascular health for law enforcement officers and
researcher, took to the stage.
