Chief Paul Thompson has assembled a broad based group to develop criteria and metrics to insure the quality
of all education and training provided or sponsored by the association. This committee will also work to
identify education and training topical needs and relevant to law enforcement, business, and citizens. In this
effort the committee will evaluate TPA s deliverables and current delivery methods and identify emerging
topical needs of law enforcement, business, and citizen communities.
The third tactic identified to grow and sustain the organization is to, over the next year, increase membership
in the following areas;
Law Enforcement Membership 5,200
Agency Membership 50
Business Membership 1,000
Citizen Membership 4,000
The statement of the goal is simple. The achievement of the goal requires a lot of creativity and hard work.
This effort cannot be remotely successful if limited to a small committee, therefore, the Association needs your
help. You can help in the near term by volunteering to assist in development of marketing materials. We need
a small group to assist in the development of material for each of us to learn how to approach and sell TPA
to fellow police officers, to our agencies, to our businesses within our communities and to our citizenry at
large.
In the long term, since we do not have the resources to retain a large marketing company we must learn to be
as self-sufficient as possible. And we must rely on each other to get the TPA word out, in an effort to raise
awareness of TPA and to encourage our fellow officers, the businesses in our communities, and our fellow
citizens to join TPA and support our Purpose.
With YOUR HELP, in March, we will begin executing the Texas Police Association Strategic Plan.
We are excited about working with you to grow and sustain TPA.
Respectfully
Sam Garrison
President, TPA
