5. SIZE AND DEPTH OF BOREHOLES

• The size of the boreholes shall be such that the requirements of size in
sampling, in-situ testing, etc.

• The minimum diameter of boreholes shall not be less than 75mm in

diameter.

• The depth of a borehole can vary significantly based on its purpose and

local conditions.

• Drilling shall cease when the termination criteria or maximum depth as

specified is achieved.

• The contractor shall consult with the S.O. prior to the termination of the

borehole; the S.O. may instruct the contractor either to continue drilling or

to terminate the borehole, depending on actual site conditions.
