4. METHOD OF STABILIZING THE BOREHOLES
• Bentonite Slurry
• Bentonite, a type of clay, is mixed with water to create a thick
slurry.
• This slurry is then pumped into the borehole.
• As it fills the hole, it coats the walls and prevents collapse.
• Bentonite also helps maintain hydrostatic pressure to prevent
groundwater inflow.
• Advantages: Effective in cohesive soils, easy to use, and readily
available.
• Limitations: Less effective in coarse-grained or rocky soils.
