3. METHOD OF ADVANCING BOREHOLE
• Rotary wash boring
• Rotary wash boring involves drilling a borehole into the ground using a
rotating steel casing. The process uses drilling fluid (usually water) to
flush away soil and create the borehole.
• The drilling machine rotates the steel casing while the fluid washes away the
soil, allowing access to deeper layers of the ground.
• Cuttings are removed from the hole by the circulating water.
• As the process continues, additional casing pipe and drill rods are added to
develop the borehole further.
