Innovation is key to
Africa’s sustainable
economic development
As Africa enters the digital age, businesses are stepping forward to take advantage of
the opportunities that arise. Some of our shareholders are launching innovative products, enabled by increasing bandwidth availability and consumption in their respective countries.
TelOne launches
Teltrack
As part of TelOne’s vision to support a digitally-enabled society by 2023, the company is diversifying its portfolio
by progressively developing a variety of innovative, complimentary products such as its Teltrack vehicle and fleet management system, digital customer support tools and e-learning platforms.
Teltrack is TelOne’s latest innovation that
is helping transport companies effectively monitor and efficiently manage their
key business assets. With car theft in Zimbabwe concerningly rising by 37% in 2019 compared to the previous year, TelOne introduced Teltrack to help its corporate, government and individual customers trace stolen vehicles and improve operational efficiencies by tracking running costs, inefficient or unauthorised routing and
fuel theft.
By leveraging its own network in Zimbabwe and implementing new technologies, TelOne is providing added value services for its customers.
TelOne Managing Director Mrs Chipo Mtasa commented: “With voice revenues fast declining the world over and the global
push towards digital transformation, we are diversifying our revenue streams through innovation to ensure growth and profitability of our business. Teltrack is just one example of how we are tapping into Internet of Things technology. We have received overwhelming interest since its launch and the Zimbabwean Government is already
a beneficiary of our Teltrack monitoring system.”
