“In recent times demand for digital content has greatly increased and according to our research, 59% of the market want more local programming. As the major wholesale connectivity provider in Botswana, we identified an opportunity to diversify our business portfolio and increase demand for our existing connectivity services.
UPICtv rides on BoFiNet’s network infrastructure; driving increasing connectivity consumption and promoting the economic growth of our creative industry,” commented Mabua Mabua – CEO, BoFiNet.
UPICtv, a home-grown, subscription-based streaming service, will host both local and international titles with the key focus on promoting locally produced content. BoFiNet has partnered with local ISPs to increase accessibility of the service across the country and promote affordability.
