Telkom Kenya’s new chapter
An article written by Telkom Kenya CEO - Mugo Kibati
Following a mutual decision taken with Airtel on August 5th, 2020 to no longer pursue a joint venture, we set out a new strategic direction to build Telkom’s future. Given our vast infrastructure, expansive resilient terrestrial fibre and 4G network, we are confident that this new proposition will support and enable accelerated digital transformation in Kenya. This is particularly important with the increasing demand for broadband connectivity, content and digital platforms from individuals, enterprises and the public sector.
Restructuring our business under new Service Delivery Units - Telkom Consumer and Telkom Digital - has enabled us to sharpen our efficiencies, while introducing innovative products and solutions to enhance service provision and overall customer experience.
We are digitalising our products and client service channels to enhance the customers’ journey and improving our financial services to meet evolving client needs. Now, more than ever, online security, network availability and reliability are critical factors for our customers. By providing clients with tailored solutions, hosting and managed services, strategic post-implementation support and operational services, we are at the forefront of Kenya’s digitisation agenda.
