for Year 9:
Historians in Year 9 will explore
Britain’s route to becoming a
modern democracy, the First
World War, ideological struggles of
the 1920s, the Second World War,
the Holocaust, the emergence
of Israel in the Middle East and
Britain in the 1950s and 60s.
Does the Year 9 course include
any elements of the GCSE?
Although we do not teach GCSE
content in Year 9, we will explore
the key skills required and
introduce students to the types of
questions they would likely get in
the examination hall.

and Creative
Technology

Summary of Programme
for Year 9:
The ICT course in Year 9
encourages students to explore
the fundamentals of technology
and gain the practical skills
required in digital video, audio and
web design to plan, make and
review information technology
systems and products. Students
gain an understanding of the
Information Technology sector and
aspects of the creative industries
and develop communication,
planning and team-working skills.
Does the Year 9 course include
any elements of the GCSE?
We will touch on some aspects of
the Level 2 BTEC course but will
mainly be focusing on different
topics and skills through the year.
