Pastoral Care
At Seaford College, we pride ourselves on providing exceptional pastoral care to
ensure every student feels supported and valued. It’s important to us that students
have options when they need support, whether it’s simply a chat with their Tutor,
Head of Year, our Chaplain, or if they require more specialist support from our school
counsellor. Our dedicated Pastoral Centre, No.46, is a space devoted to the emotional
wellbeing of our students, located right in the centre of the campus. The staff there
provide a listening ear over a cup of tea whenever a student needs them, along with
members of the School’s Peer Mentoring Team. We have also enlisted the help of
Frank, the pastoral pooch, who has had a lot of success in helping students to open
up and de-stress whether through cuddles and strokes or a brisk dog walk.
Likewise, each boarding house is overseen by experienced Houseparents, House
Assistants and Duty staff, who build close relationships with students, providing
both practical assistance and emotional support. We emphasise the importance of
mental health alongside physical wellbeing, ensuring students have access to the
resources they need to thrive.
