Jonny Green
In Seaford’s Sixth Form and at the age of just 17, Seaford 1st XV’s second row rugby
player Jonny Green was called up to play for the Wales U20 team against Scotland.
Jonny was the youngest person on the squad by far and had three years left in this
age group.
Jonny’s progress was tracked by the Welsh U20 management for some time, and
he was called up to train with the squad at the prestigious Vale Resort in South
Wales.
“It was big step up both physically as well as the pace of the game. I’m excited to
play for Wales because I’ve always been a Welsh supporter growing up. I have
been at Seaford since Year 5 and my ambition has always been to take my rugby
as far as I can. Seaford has been great for me academically; I think it’s always
good to have a backup plan, particularly with the vagaries of embarking on a
career playing sport professionally. I gained my Level 2 Fitness Instructing in Gym
Equipment Use and Level 3 Personal Training certification in the Sixth Form. The
courses have given me a greater understanding of the programmes I’m given
with Wales and I understand how my body works. It also gives me another avenue
if my career is curtailed.”
Playing rugby at a high level goes back a long way on both sides of Jonny’s family,
with his father playing for England U16, U18, U23 and Students, while his mother’s
father and brother both playing.
Jonny’s precocious talent has been recognised for many years at Seaford and, as a
15-year-old, he was picked to play for the Harlequins U18 side, and has captained the
Quins team during his Year 13 at Seaford.
Beanie Bradley
Beanie is currently pursuing her career in polo alongside studying Psychology,
Social Science and Wellbeing modules with the Open University during the
Women’s World Tour.
During her time at Seaford, Beanie gained the title of the youngest female to
represent England in polo as the team took on Argentina in their first international
of the 2021 season.
After winning, she was selected to play for England again for the European
Championships in Italy, and then in the World Cup, which was held in Argentina.
Beanie became the second Seaford student in a row, after Rufus Uloth, to win
Cowdray Park Polo Club’s Pimm’s Cup trophy for the most improved young player
of the year. She was also the first female to scoop the prestigious award in its 50-
year history.
“I hope winning the Cowdray Park Polo Club’s Pimm’s Cup trophy will inspire more
girls to get involved in polo.”
Beanie joined our Prep School and had success showjumping, and her recent
successes In Sixth Form were as a club member and England polo player. She was
a 13+ sports scholar and had a long-time connection with Seaford’s Equestrian
Team Manager, Lucy Sanders, who supported her equestrian journey.
Beanie plans to study Sport Psychology at Loughborough University in the future.
