Why Conduct a Feasibility Study? What Are Our Options? Proposed Plans for the Kitchen & Butler’s Pantry Kitchen & Butler’s Pantry: Te original footprint of the kitchen, mini/weekend kitchen, and butler’s pantry in our historic home was not originally designed to meet the daily needs of 200 + individuals. By Proposed Plans for Modern’s Bathroom expanding the kitchen we will be able to provide the staf with additional prep and storage space, a walk in refrigerator/freezer, a space for staf meetings, and all new commercial equipment to help provide hundreds of meals fve days a week. By combining the mini/weekend kitchen and the butler’s pantry we will be able to create a service area with pass through openings to the main kitchen. Tis will keep all of the food service in the kitchen area so that we can gain back the much needed seating space in the dining room that is currently used for serving. Te renovated butler’s pantry will also serve as the chapter member’s mini/ weekend kitchen and provide the necessary storage for our china, serving dishes and dining linens. House Director’s Suite: Our House Director is an integral part of our team and we should therefore provide her with a beautiful and comfortable living and working environment. While the current location of our House Director’s suite is conveniently located in the center of the house it is rather small when compared to other House Director’s suites on Te Row. By adding onto the suite we will be able to provide the House Director with a larger ofce space, a larger living room, an updated bathroom, more storage space, and some much needed natural light. Bathrooms: We have 7 bathrooms in Teta Xi (8 if you include the House Director’s bathroom), all of which have “unique” qualities and are in various states of disrepair. We are very grateful to our Parent’s Club for donating the funds to renovate our frst foor powder room a few years ago, and we hope to be able to refurbish the rest of the bathrooms in a similar fashion. For the most part, the renovations would include all new cabinetry, tile, countertops, fxtures, lighting, stall dividers and accessories, but we would also be sure to make any and all updates to the plumbing as needed. In terms of layout, most of the bathrooms would stay the same but we would like to combine the 2 bathrooms (1 small and 1 large) in Modern’s hallway into one large bathroom. We feel the square footage of those 2 individual spaces would be better utilized as one large space. Windows: While we are blessed with the beauty of our leaded glass windows in the entry, most of the other windows in the house are deteriorating. Before this becomes a safety issue, we would like to replace all of the windows on the 2nd foor and almost all of the windows on the 1st foor with energy efcient models and equip them with a wireless alarm for improved security. Tis will not only We need to know which of these issues you believe are extend the life of our house but also remove the unsightly bars that mar the most important. What do you believe is the best course façades of our beautiful of action? Please share your thoughts on the enclosed home. feasibility survey so we can best move forward.
