around the Southeast. We also like to spend
time on the boat at Lake Lanier; we both enjoy
lots of water activities. Finally, I try to sneak in
a little beer brewing when I have the time.
How do you stay in touch with your
brothers today?
Well, email and social media has made it much
easier to stay in contact. But the real way has been
thorugh activities together. Certainly Tech football
and tailgating has to top the list. Our Theta Chi tailgate tailgate foods like wings, our tailgate would
group and block seating has grown over the past few
years. It is lots of fun – I’ve gotten to know brothers
and their families, many of whom were ahead of or
behind me in school. The Theta Chi camping trip is
another great experience to stay in contact with or
even meet brothers; I highly recommend it.
Just how good is the food at the Alpha Nu tailgate?

since many of the guys might get by with chips
and dogs. But I have to tell you, the tailgate
group never disappoints with homemade
meats, sides, and desserts. Coupled with typical
match top tailgates around the country. Tech
fans, and even rivals, love it!
What advice can you give the
importance of staying in touch
with their Theta Chi brothers?
I know it gets repeated a lot, but
getting and staying involved is the
key. It takes work, time and follow
up. But the benefits in friendship
and even business together is the
payoff. Make the effort first. Don’t
wait to be contacted. The joint effort
of all really makes it worthwhile.

What type of work have you done during
your internships?
I worked as a Fleet Engineer for a year
with American Airlines. I led numerous
projects that directly resulted in cost savings
for the company, and created a more positive
experience for the customer. This past
as a Product Development Intern in their
R&D field. I worked on a project to develop
the next generation lifetime testing machine
for the Irwin one-hand bar clamp. Both my
work experiences were exciting, especially
since I got a taste of two very different fields.
Plus, the free flights with American allowed
me to go on over 80 flights in a year!
“Co-oping for an airline allowed me to travel the world and
visit 40 cities and 15 countries in one year. You could say
I caught the travel bug.”
Any plans for after graduation?
I’m currently on the job hunt, specifically
looking into consulting or another analytical
field that allows me to work with and have
a direct positive impact on people and
customers. One of my passions in life is
making connections and meeting new people,
so saying I’m a people person is a bit of an
understatement. Consulting also helps loop
in my passion for traveling and exploring
the world, while also making a living. I’m
excited to see where this next year takes me,
and I’m going forth with an open mind to
any opportunities that come my way.
