        Chapter Spotlight: Mason Heim

Editor’s Note: Representing the chapter as Spotlight is sophomore
Mason Heim. Mason was selected for his quick progression in
fraternity leadership, and he is a shining example of brotherhood
and personal excellence. From the hometown of Vero Beach, FL, he
is pursuing a degree in electrical engineering while playing club
lacrosse for Tech. Mason served the chapter as co-philanthropy
chair last spring, and is the current history chair.

What led you to join the chapter? had met a couple
Coming into Georgia Tech, I knew that I of TKEs through
wanted to join a fraternity. Both of my parents were Greek and hearing lacrosse before I
things about Tech, I knew that this was the best way to meet people. I came and when
I finally got to Mason during one of his first lacrosse games at
Tech, I really the collegiate club level.
                                                               liked having a
volleyball court and basketball court to be active.
How do you balance school and sports?
Throughout high school, I played football, basketball, and lacrosse,
so I thought I’d learned to manage my time well. Turns out, college is
completely different. Playing club lacrosse and managing school has
taught me many things. I have learned to be more efficient with my time
and block out chunks of my schedule dedicated to getting homework
                                                               or other school stuff done.
What type of internships are you on the lookout for?
Right now, I am on the lookout for any internships that might lead
me to what I want to do with electrical engineering. I think I am probably
leaning toward something having to do with power or with hardware
design. Honestly I am on the lookout for anything to gain experience.
Outside of school, what do you do for fun?
I like to play lots of sports. I love having a volleyball court and a

are coached by TKEs and I was there to help coach one of them. to that, club lacrosse is a big part of my outside of school life. Also in
that same area, I try to go to as many GT sporting events as I can.
