A Vision Becoming Reality
The Campaign for Beta-Pi
We hope it comes as no surprise to any Teke
from GA Tech that there has been a dedicated
effort since 2007 to replace the Beta-Pi chapter house
with a “next-generation” facility that will serve as

life-safety concerns for our undergraduate members,
we moved ahead with Phase I, the replacement of
the apartment building, and financed it entirely with
debt. That effort will be followed by Phase II, “the
equity build”, which will wrap the building into a
single, 73-resident, architecturally unique facility
that will be unequalled in the Georgia Tech Greek
community … as soon as we can raise the funds
necessary to complete it!
Over the last 18 months, both Boards (see
“From the Chairmen” article) have been working
with members of The Laurus Group, professional
fundraising consultants, to help us raise awareness
about our building project goals, and to identify a
Steering Committee and a group of lead contributors
to get the project off the ground. The members of
both groups are listed in this newsletter, and thanks
to their leadership, we’re halfway to our final “real”
goal to raise $1.5 million to complete both phases of
the project!
We hope that many of you have seen the
remarkable outcome of the Phase I effort, and, if not,
please stop by soon for a tour. Large sleeping rooms,
beautiful baths, and study rooms on each floor are
just a few of the excellent features found in the new
design.
The Phase II effort will tie both buildings
together with the Phase I exterior, increase sleeping
rooms to a capacity of 73, with new Resident Advisor
and Prytanis living suites, multiple laundry rooms,
significantly expanded kitchen facilities, a dedicated
work shop, a media room, an alumni library and a
small workout room. It will be the envy of every
fraternity on campus when complete.
When? That’s the big question. Honestly, the
“when” will occur once we can justify the remainder
of the project financially. We forecast that the entire
project will approach a $5 million price tag once
completed. Current financial modeling indicates
means we need to raise at least $1.5 million.
How can you help? The answer to that question
is easy … make a contribution!
There are several ways that you can provide
the funds needed to help us complete the project
and leave an indelible mark in the history of Beta-
Pi. Whether you choose a $1000, $100,000 or larger
gift, what we need most is participation by as many
Tekes as possible to make this vision become a
reality. Since gifts can be financed over several (up
to five) years, it’s easier to make a meaningful, larger
gift to leave a legacy to our fraternity home.
Realistically, Beta-Pi has proven time after
time, that its members will “rally for a cause”, and
that’s what is needed now. So, our goal is 500
new contributors at $2,500 each. That’s still less
than half of our living alumni, for an annual gift of
$500 in each of the next five years. Each of those
contributors will be named and recognized on a
special wall in the new Alumni Library.

contribution level, and ensure the future of Beta-Pi
for you, and generations to come! Details on giving
methods can be found on the enclosed letter.
