NEW!
Brick Safari
A roaring tiger, a leaping dolphin,
a lounging leopard—these
are all things one might
expect to see on a visit
to Brookfield Zoo.
However, this
summer, guests
will have the
chance to experience
these creatures in a new way.
Beginning May 11, Brookfield Zoo will be the
first North American zoo ever to become home
to Brick Safari, an international traveling exhibit
featuring more than 40 life-size animal sculptures
created from millions of individual LEGO® bricks.
Guests will see some animals they wouldn’t normally
encounter at Brookfield Zoo—such as an elephant holding
its trunk high and a giant panda with its playful cubs.
There are also sculptures based on some Brookfield Zoo
favorites, such as the pangolin and snow leopard. Guests
can take a selfie in the LEGO Safari Jeep or in a life-size
photo frame—in addition to taking photos of the sculptures,
of course. After checking out these amazing sculptures,
guests can go visit their live counterparts throughout the
zoo. Guests might end up finding a new zoo favorite!
In addition to amazing those young at heart and Adult
Fans of LEGO (AFOL), this interactive exhibit will appeal
to both science and art lovers. Not only will guests be awed
by the sheer number of blocks used to create these sculptures
(can you guess how many are in the elephant sculpture?),
they’ll have the opportunity to tap into their
creative sides. A poem about each animal
accompanies each sculpture, and guests
can pick up some LEGO bricks of
their own in the gift shop. From
there, the possibilities are endless
as imaginations begin to flow.
