A panel of professional photographers,
including award-winning Brookfield Zoo
Chicago staff photographer, Jim Schulz,
chose their top seven picks in each of
the following categories:
• Mammals
• Birds
• Reptiles, Fish, Amphibians, Invertebrates

The panel’s choices were uploaded
to the Zoo’s website and members of
the public were invited to vote for first-,
second-, and third-place winners in each
of the three categories. The votes were
tallied and the three recipients of the
highest number of votes in each category
were designated first, second, and
third place.
The judging panel also chose one
grand-prize winner from all of the entries
submitted.
You’ll find the amazing work of the
talented winners on these pages. Brookfield
Zoo Chicago thanks the judges, voters, and
photographers who sent in their photos.
