Quilbert

Prehensile-tailed porcupine

Let's get to the point—they grow up so fast! Quilbert, the enigmatic
prehensile-tailed porcupine and adored Animal Ambassador, turned
1 year old on July 2. To commemorate his first birthday, which also
happened to fall on World Porcupine Day, staff and zoo guests cele-
brated at Hamill Family Wild Encounters and Quilbert was given a
nutritious, layered cake made of biscuits, sweet potato, peanut butter,
jelly, butternut squash, cucumbers, carrots, and zucchini.
