together, they must have “a common vision” as to where they are going. Simply put, this means they must both
be desiring to walk in the “same direction,” to the “same place”; and they must agree (in advance) on the road they will travel on to get there.
After they have made their initial commitment, there are other important decisions that must be made before they can begin their walk together.
They must decide which one of them will have the authority to make the necessary decisions along the way, such as how fast they should travel, how often they should stop etc.
It stands to reason that (under normal circumstances), the one who knows the way the best should be the most likely one to make these decisions. Needless to say, there may be exceptions to this as there are some who “know the way,” but because of a serious spiritual lack in their lives, none of us would choose to follow in their footsteps. But the person who is worthy to be followed will know when it is the “right time” and will “choose the right way” that will take them further towards their common desti- nation.
As we meditate on Amos 3:3, we find this Scripture is the same as all the other Scriptures, it contains far more than we may have first realized. But one thing is for sure, “the agreement to walk together” is necessary if we are to accomplish what God desires for us to accomplish as we take... “the walk.”
So... you have prayed and sought God, and He has given you a ministry. You have this glorious mandate from on High to minister the Good News of the Gospel to those who are hurting in your neighborhood, as well
