I woke up to a blinding light and I could hear the

sound of machines beeping from the distance. An

unpleasant pungent smell of disinfectant assaulted

my nostrils. I groaned while trying to keep my eyes

open. After I gained my focus, I looked around.

When I was able to make out my surrounding, I

realized that I was in a hospital. I was overcome

with the dread of not knowing what was happening

to me. A man walked through the door. In a foggy

state of mind, I was able to perceive that it was the

doctor who treated me. After the doctor left, my

sister bolted through the door. She hugged me

tightly. Then, she nervously asked me if I

remembered what happened. My sister must have

realized that I looked bewildered. I shook my head.

Just one word from her later had something flashed

through my mind.
