J.K.  Rowling  is  the  popular  author  of  the  wildly  sucessful



                         Harry Potter series. She was born on 31 July, 1965 in England.



                         She went to Exeter University in England and graduated with



                         a degree in French and Classics. Becoming a full time writer,



                         Rowling was a bilingual secretary and had taught English as



                         a  foreign  language  in  Portugal.  She  was  inspired  to  write



                         about Harry Potter on a train trip to London. The Harry Potter


                         books have sold over 400 million copies and translated into



                         68 languages.
