Beginning the Journey

              Meeting the teaching team.

Before starting your journey at Botany Park our teaching team will spend some time with
              you as part of orientation
Orientation will be organised by the teaching team and is designed to provide you
with an opportunity to spend time in the program with your child to help them
explore and settle into the new environment whilst meeting their teachers and other
              children

This is a great opportunity to share information about your child, ask questions.
During the orientation process you will be provided with detailed information about
              what you need to provide.

               Settling In Arrangements during Orientation

To assist with the initial Settling in period at the beginning of the year, we will be
commencing with reduced session hours for the first two weeks, Full sessions will
              commence after this period.

As some children still feel uncertain when they start full sessions , you may like to
come in and settle your child with a favorite activity before leaving. However please
take the time to say 'Good-bye" letting your child know you will be returning to
collect them. If your child is experiencing difficulties settling in an individual
              arrangement can be made.

               Attendance

Families are encouraged to send their children to Preschool on a regular basis.
Arriving on time for each session provides consistency and predictability for the
children. Having continuity of attendance assists in the development of self-
confidence, firm friendships and an awareness and understanding of the preschool
program. All children are required to be signed in / out upon arrival and departure
              fronm the service.

              Late Collection of Children

If you are unavoidably detained, please contact the preschool on 9786 0013 so the
teacher or co-educator can explain this to your child and save them from
unnecessary worry. Some children are quite distressed when the person collecting

them is late and it can affect their desire to return to preschool.
