Tatsuto Nagayasu
Chairman and Managing Director, MPW-IND
In a TV programme, I saw my colleague explaining MHI CO2 capture technology at COP26 in
Scotland. He was young engineer when I was act as his manager in ten years back, and he
was in India on that time to construct CO2 recovery plant for IFFCO. Now I am here in India
and enjoy work and life. This month, I wish to draw your attention for mental wellbeing and
our bright future with safety.
“Our physical and mental wellbeing is fundamental to everything we do at Mitsubishi Power.
We must continue to elevate and embrace a culture of health and safety across our
workplaces”.
It's very important to cultivate the safety culture within organisation. To develop the
culture, our leaders must demonstrate to the workers that we are focused on safety and we
care about their safety. Establish open communication channels to talk about safety and
discuss about the safety very often. Conduct the safety walk covering the total work place to
demonstrate that we care for their safety.
Involving all level of employees in safety activities is important, to identify safety concerns at
all level / activities / process. Constitute the safety committee as per applicable rules /
requirements and conduct meeting at least once in a month and communicate action plans.
Ensure everyone voice is heard and rightly addressed.
Motivate the personnel to participate in improving leading parameters like HSE kaizens and
recognise the best efforts. Use change mechanisms effectively to reduce Unsafe acts and to
make everyone thinking on the same towards safety. Conduct motivational programme
every month to motivate the personnel to enhance the safety culture.
Let's make MPW-IND the best safety cultured organisation.
