RON WRIGHT’S
FRESH SQUEEZED LEMONADE
Ingredients
4 cups water
1 ½ cup sugar
3 lemon peel strips
1 tablespoon grape juice
1 cup lemon juice - about 5 lemons
OPTIONAL:
lemon slice, sprig of mint or a maraschino cherry
Instructions
In a small saucepan, bring 2 cups water, sugar and lemon peel to a boil. Reduce heat
then cover and simmer for 5 minutes. Remove from heat. Discard lemon peel. In a
large pitcher, combine the remaining water, lemon juice, grape juice and sugar
mixture. Serve over ice. Garnish to taste. It will make 6 servings.
Ron used to make this lemonade for me. My doctor told me that fresh lemonade would
help me with my kidney stones. So Ron started to make it for me using my Nana’s
lemon squeezer. That was hard work, so we bought the electric juicer, which made
Ron’s production of lemonade easier.
HELEN HUBLER WRIGHT’S PUNCH
Ingredients
1 can red fruit punch 1 bottle ginger ale
1 bottle club soda rainbow sherbet
Instructions
Combine as much of each as you wish into a punch bowl. Place a few spoonfuls of
sherbet on top before serving.
ICE: Freeze water in a plastic container, add cherries and mint. Take ice out of
container and add to punch to keep it cold.
OPTIONAL:
add champagne
I used to make this for many parties at our home. I also made this punch for holiday
parties for parents in my classroom. I did not add champagne whenever children
were at the party.
