                       •  Infection


                       •  Obesity

                       •  Use of forceps or vacuum-assisted delivery


                       •  Parity, marital/cohabitation status, or smoking during

                          pregnancy

                       •  History of infertility or previous history of spontaneous

                          abortion

                       •  Previous Cesarean section, other uterine surgery, or uterine

                          fibroids

                       •  Pre-pregnancy BMI, hypertension, pre-pregnancy or

                          gestational diabetes, or impaired glucose

                   The most effective strategy to prevent postpartum hemorrhage

                   is active management of the third stage of labor (AMTSL). The

                   use of the “Four Ts” may aid in AMTSL and assist the physician
                   in identifying and stopping the bleeding as soon as possible.
