Overview
The purpose of this course is to review the importance
of designing and maintaining effective systems as an
integral part of a successful risk management plan.
Effective systems should serve the overall purpose of
standardizing many of the day to day tasks to mitigate
risks associated with process gaps and inconsistencies.
Course Objectives
At the end of this course, the participant will be able to:
1. Recognize common sources of medical errors
stemming from ineffective systems
2. Identify gaps in your practice’s existing protocols,
checklists, and/or electronic systems
3. List steps to implement an effective tracking
system for labs, diagnostic imaging, referrals, and
appointments
