help to increase the diversity of diets.

3. World Pulses Day is a day established by the Food and
Agriculture Organization (FAO) of The United Nations to
recognize the Importance of pulses as a global food.

seeds of leguminous plants.
6. Pulses are an excellent source of folate a B-vitamin that
is essential for the function of the nervous system.
7. Pulses are low glycaemic index foods.They help to
stablilize blood sugar and insulin levels.
8. Pulses, beans and lentils act as antioxidants and
anti-inflammatory agents which reduce the risk of
cancer.
