Understanding and Using ChartFields

        Understanding and Using ChartFields

        Overview

ChartField is a Compass term describing a field that stores a value, chosen from a table of valid values.
Compass uses ChartField functionality to capture, access, and report its financial information; a combination of
ChartField values (ChartField String) identifies a financial transaction.

 ChartFields are the individual values that make up the Chart of Accounts.
 ChartFields provide a common language for classifying Emory’s business transactions and may represent different
information for University and Healthcare users.
 ChartFields provide additional reporting categories to monitor the university’s monies that are received and spent.
