Budget Request(s) Need
For ALL Budget Request Forms, the following guidelines apply:
• The Budget Request for Non-Labor and Labor should be attached to the Budget Request Form. If the Non-Labor request is associated with a planned Labor Request then your Non-Labor narrative should reference the specifics of the planned Labor Request.
• Request of $5,000 or more.
• Should not combine recurring and non-recurring requests on one Budget Request
form. Furthermore, do not combine multiple plan files on any Budget Request form.
• Should contain details related to major expense categories, such as headcount
additions, licenses, equipment, and other operating expenses.
• A narrative explaining how the budget request aligns with your unit’s strategy.
• The benefits Emory will receive if the budget request is approved and potential
issues if the request is not approved.
• A list of all funds assigned to your unit and located in reserve, surplus, designated,
and restricted funds as well as the commitments of these funds to explain why they are not available to fund the amount requested.
Do not include Transfers in the Budget Request form. Use the separate Transfer process for these budget changes.
