   Budget Request(s) Process
When completing Budget Request forms, the following protocols should be followed:
1. Review the four categories above to ensure budget request(s) are in alignment.
2. Create a brief outline of the Budget Request need(s) in a separate Word document. Note: If approved, one total will be submitted in Syntellis for all request(s), per plan file.
3. Discuss and review the Budget Request(s) with your VP Leadership.

     Receive preliminary decision about the Budget Request(s).
▪ If the request is approved, proceed to Step 5.
▪ If the request is denied, no further action is needed.
 5.
    Fill out the Budget Request Form, and attach the Budget Request documentation to Syntellis.
Note: The approved positions will need to be included in the detailed Labor Planning reconciliation.
    6. Discuss and review the approved Budget Request(s) and the funding sources with your VP Leadership.
7. Units may be required to update Syntellis to align Budget Request(s) with funding sources.
8. Review of the total University’s IFP with VP leadership and IFPB Executives.
9. Final decisions are released through the Budget Letters.
10. Review (Units) the budget letters and inform the IFP team of any concerns via
ifphelp@emory.edu.

 Budget Request Form
One-Time Recurring
The form will be accessible in Syntellis on December 8, 2023 – January 15, 2024. The AIU will submit requests after meeting with the VP.
The approved budget request will not roll over to the following year’s budget.
The approved budget request may be walked into the allocation based on the agreed upon period.
   Budget Letters
   The Budget letters will provide the total budget allocation for your unit and the official decision for all items requested.
Note: If the IFPB team knows that a request for additional funding will not be approved, we will try to communicate with you as soon as possible so you can begin making alternative plans/decisions based on existing resources.
