Transferring an Item

How do I Transfer an Item from One Customer to Another?

        Overview

Compass allows users to move a receivable from one customer to another using a Transfer Worksheet. This
process is most helpful to Grants when an On-Account payment has been posted to the wrong customer or
when a payment belonging to Non-Grants is received by Grants in error. Grants will use Transfer Worksheets to
        perform the following:

 Move the payment to the correct customer as long as the payment accounting date and transfer occurs in the same
               accounting period.

 Move a doubtful receivable to a separate account, but will continue to be worked by the same collector assigned to that
               customer.
 Special situations that can occur when issuing customer refunds. There are instances where the agency that is due the refund
is different from the customer on a grant. When this occurs, the transfer worksheet is used to move the credit item from the
grant customer ID to the agency’s customer ID. This transfer will be documented and included in the supporting
               documentation for the refund.
