         254. Lady = Zoëdsja

This is a very strange and controversial entry. There is a paper pedigree in the book, not an
official one, of a ‘Lady’, breed Greyhound. (see picture)
This Greyhound was born September 2, 1922.
Father: Teddy. Written under his name: (1 ½ years of age. He was the fastest dog at the hunt
in the field at Anderen, rented by the Hunting club Sloeqi Club. Owner: Zanting. Originating

from the kennel Nimrod at Vlieland).
Mother: Jenny. Written under her name: (best catcher on the hunt).
All the ancestors are Greyhounds, looking at their names and descriptions, prizes at

         racetracks, imported from England etc.
There seemed to have been a connection with the Sloeqi club.

Lady June 1931, 6 years old Hesan standing, Lady lying down.

        Bitch, sand.
Date of birth: unknown. Breeder: unknown. Parents: unknown.

Owner: Mrs. H. van Dijk – Hastings.

March 28, 1930, mated to Melik van de Lindenhof.
May 28, 1930, gave birth to a litter of 3 dogs and 3 bitches. Numbers 256-257-258-259-
        260-261.
July 19, 1931, mated to Caïd du Simoun. No result.
February 23, 1932, mated to Caïd du Simoun. No result.

Just for fun, as Mrs. van Dijk wrote, Lady was mated to her son Hesan.

She gave birth November 29, 1932, to 3 dogs and 3 bitches. One pup (dog?) she kept
herself, and a dog was given to a dentist in Bilthoven.
Both dogs are without pedigree and not entered in the studbook.
