discussion and also the relevant decisions of your committee will be based on greater
objectivity than has unfortunately been the case to date. I am, of course, always available to
provide further information or to discuss or correspond with you at. However, in view of the
allegations implied in your letter, I must request a reply or statement - which need not
necessarily be of a formal nature - within a reasonable period of time. I will not let the
accusation that I may have knowingly bred bastards and passed them off as purebreds rest on
my laurels.
