Re: Saluki – Sloughi – Azawakh
Dear Ms Berghausen,
Following the articles in the latest issue of ‘Windhundfreund’, I contacted the president of the
SWC on 6 January to enquire about the dogs in question and have now received
the relevant stud book entries from Mr Brandenberger. The entries show that the mating of
Dasman-Jet can produce both Salukis and Sloughis. There are also some other
inconsistencies, e.g. the import of Azawakhs from Saudi Arabia.
I would ask you, as a precautionary measure, i.e. until these matters have been clarified in
Switzerland, not to register any dogs with the DWZB that are related to any of the dogs
that must be considered problematic according to these entries.
I kindly ask you to forward the enclosed documents, including this letter, to the members of
the Breeding Commission for the three breeds mentioned above with the request that they
take note of this information.
With many thanks and best regards
Dr. H. Quaritsch
