Preface and brief overview of the content:

When dealing with the Sloughi as a hunting dog, one cannot avoid going further into the
origins of hunting and thus also the common history of man and dog together. This

common path is longer than we would first think. The historical scenes and reports that
reach us are already the end products of a common path previously travelled together.
And this previously travelled path was very long. Already with the Egyptians we see
different types of dogs or perhaps naturally evolved breeds or species or races of dogs,
which all means the same thing, if we may believe the drawings from these tomb
inscriptions and frescoes.
