horrific way our breed can be treated as it is to
financially support the dogs in their care.
I am often asked where I see myself in ten
years’ time. To answer that fairly, I can only look
at how far my family and I have come with Pride
of Bully over the last 25 years and reflect on
the way I have always shown with dignity, bred
with compassion and judged with respect. I’d
love my judging career to take me further afield
across Europe as well as the highly respected
UK appointments and I pray to continue to breed
healthy health tested Bulldogs for many years
to come. We may even have a budding junior
handler in our eldest daughter Isabella who will
be 6 in November. I wonder if Bupa will be her
first show as an exhibitor? I’ll be sure to give
her a heads up to leave the paper work at home.

To produce a healthy version of our wonderful
breed is attainable and to show that dog to the
highest level achievable is entirely possible. We
are living proof.
We are always kept humble with our breeding
journey through my wife’s connection with The
Edward Foundation as a volunteer. I’ll never
forget going with her to collect some dogs that
had been signed over to the Foundation. It was
a stressful journey, lots of traffic and we had
our then one year old daughter in the back of
the van grizzling. I’ll be honest I wasn’t best
pleased and did ask Jo why she always felt the
need to save the world. We collected those
poor emaciated dogs, drenched where their
owner had “bathed them” prior to us collecting
them but still stinking. I admit I was close to
tears myself. The Bulldog rehoming charity
headed up by De Randall and Marion Beardall
and their hundreds of volunteers genuinely do
work incredibly hard for our breed with too little
recognition as far as I am concerned. Both
highly respected friends of ours and the support
