ring is a bonus. The breed has undergone a lot
of changes over the years, some good, some
not so. The breed now is much sounder, more
family friendly but we are in danger of losing the
Weimar unique features such as their aristocratic
attitude, aloof expression, the ground covering
movement and the grey ghost colour.

I feel strongly that it is important to keep the
Weimaraner as a real dual purpose dog being
able to show and work. In too many breeds
the show and working sides are as different as
chalk and cheese. So far that has not happened
in weimars but we need to be aware of it and
remember what the breed was designed to do. breed record holder Sh Ch Ansona Purdey.
The records show that my dogs have achieved
Ch Sireva Skype, Top Puppy and winning
success in both field and the show ring.
2CC’s from puppy, her third in junior and
obtaining a SGWC at just over a year making
One award I am particularly proud of was a third
her the youngest full champion in the breed
place gained at a Novice field trial with Sireva
she won the group at Driffield under the late
Landscape. I have been lucky enough to work
Nev Newton and has had several other group
my dogs on several shoots over the years and
placings. She has won 21 CC’s.
have competed in the occasional Field Trial, but
never thought l would ever get an award, that Sh Ch Sireva Crackerjack at Coastedge
was a very memorable day. was Top Puppy, Top Weimar in 2017 and has

several group placings. He was WOTY 2016
Show Sireva’s of note starting with some Group and 2017, a great dog and the sire of several
winners at Championship level. CC winners and Lesley and Adrian Rutlands
                                                                Sh Ch Khamsynn Coast Liaison.
Sh Ch Kisdons Fagan of Sireva, He won
the group at Bournemouth in an era when
weimars didn’t do such things. He was
an influential sire with quite a few show
champions and CC winners in his progeny.

Sh Ch Sireva Squash of Coastedge,
owned by Russell Clarke he was a stunning
young dog who won 2 groupds and several
but died tragically when he was only a
youngster and in his prime. I often wonder
what he would have achieved and produced.

Sh Ch Sireva Cheers, owned by Mick Heap,
he was a very stylish Weimar and won the
             group at Manchester.

Sh Ch Sireva Sahne won BIS at NGA
under Hilda Parkinson and a total of 15 CC’s
which was quite an achievement as she
was showing at the same time as the female
