Newfoundlands are my biggest passion and with
only 8 years in the breed and 4 years breeding
we are still the Newbies in this world. However,
with passion and the same stubborn nature
of the breed I love so much, I feel we have
progressed well in such a short time.
While type and temperament will always be
a priority for me I decided going in to this that
my main focus would always lie with the health
of the breed. Newfoundlands are a breed that
suffer with several health issues and the main
concerns within our breed are hip dysplasia,
elbow dysplasia and Heart conditions.
Having our 1st Newfie Dexter from a not so
reputable breeder definitely made us come in to
this with our eyes wide open. He was not breed
standard and not a healthy dog.
I got my first girl Bay in May 2014 who later
became my foundation bitch and the matriarch
of the Newfangled line. I couldn’t wait to get in
to the ring with her and I was bitten by the show
bug instantly. She had some success at open
