§ Try to be clear with others about what I am committed to actually doing and what is just “thinking options out loud.” This will eliminate confusion and frustration especially among literal types.
§ Acknowledge problems, challenges and difficult issues and deal with them, as unpleasant as they may be. Don’t dismiss them or avoid dealing with them. Force myself to evaluate the situation and take action.
§ Don’t get turned off just because I hear “no.” Listen for the truth in what is being said and look for alternative solutions.
§ Be mindful of making hasty decisions without proper due diligence. Stop before jumping in. Force myself to think things through. Slow things down enough to let others sift through the issues and give me their input.
§ Try to stay focused on a task or topic until completion, even when it gets boring or unenjoyable.

§ Avoid exerting heavy authority and strict oversight. Limit micro- management. These are independent creatures that need a light touch when it comes to direction and control.
§ Keep conversations and instructions short and on point. Don’t harp or be repetitive.
§ Don’t stress the negatives or problems unless it is absolutely necessary.
§ Let them take risks and improvise without having to adhere to strict rules.
§ Try to be decisive and not over analyze things. Make a decision and then move quickly to action.
§ Involve them more during planning and idea generation and less during implementation.
§ Give them tasks and projects that don’t require impeccable follow through or managing details but do call for variety, fast pace and innovation.
§ Temper their over enthusiasm by gently sharing concerns but do it in a positive manner so as not to turn them off altogether by “raining on their parade.” Patiently help them see downsides and limitations that they might not have addressed on their own.

§ Sevens are generally on the go. Short messaging, usually through text or IM is generally the best way to connect with them. Use bullets and limit your words. Keep your conversations with them short and on point. Expect that once they chime in and get going they may want to talk for a long time, but your part should be short and sweet to keep them from glazing over.
§ Be aware that Sevens may not stay on point. Don’t try to box them in because that may make them shut down. Be aware of possibility talk—they might sound like they’re making a commitment, but to Sevens, it’s just a possibility. They may be thinking options out loud or exploring them. Once you decide on
