other points of view. They’re only seeing them from their own. Eights in general have their boxing gloves close at hand, but in Shadow they’re just a little too quick to put them on. To them, arguments are ways to bring out the truth. But to other people, they can elicit a great deal of fear and not quite get the results they are seeking.
In Best Self, Eights have good instincts and they are able to navigate through any situation. They’re self-assured, they trust their instincts, they can jump into situations with gusto and enthusiasm, and they just know they’ll get it done and they’ll get it done well.
In Shadow, however, they can become very closed to other points of view. When they’re challenged they can become really defensive. The motto “my way or the highway” was definitely written for a Shadow Eight. And they, like Sevens, can be closed to their faults. If they’re wrong, they can also be unlike Sevens but Eights in Shadow can be quite retaliative. They want to get back at you, get even. They generally
