5 Integration Information and Support:
Moving out of direct provision can be a very daunting, scary, and difficult process. Please do not worry if you feel over-whelmed. This is completely normal, and there are supports and services there to
assist you.
5.1 SLI Referral – Caseworker
If you are living in Direct Provision or homeless services in Dublin, and moving into a homeless HAP accommodation, you can apply to the council for a support worker to help you settle into your new home.
• Support to Live Independently (SLI) is a service provided by Dublin Simon Community and Focus Ireland for the four Dublin Councils. Staff are based in Fingal, Dun Laoghaire Rathdown and South Dublin County and Dublin City Councils.
• The overall aim is to help people integrate into their local community.
• SLI also aims to inform people about where to find local and community services and supports in their area.
• Ask your De Paul or Peter McVerry Trust caseworker to help you with this application.
• We can also help you with this referral. 5.2 Exceptional Needs Payment
When you are moving out of DP or homeless services, you can apply for a once off Exceptional Needs Payment from your local Intreo Office.
