5.5.2 – QuadSuspension
The deck plates on the GT series corn heads also
feature a spring loaded deck plate cushioning feature
called QuadSuspension. There are two deck plate
shocks (F) are positioned under each deck plate (E)
which absorb some of the energy of the ears of corn as
they contact the deck plates. This helps to reduce butt
shelling in dry conditions.
Operation of the deck plate shock is done by a spring
(I) inside a sealed cylinder (G). This rides inside an
alignment bushing (H) that is pressed into the row
unit frame. This system is maintenance free and
requires no adjustments.
