Do you ever look back over your life and career and think, “I wish I could
1500 Walnut Street do that over again because it caused such heartache and pain.” I have come
Cary, NC 27511 to realize that through hardship and pain I have grown in Godly wisdom and
insight. The difficulties we face in our lives can be overcome with the pres-
(O) 800-628-8062 ence of Jesus in our life. No matter how dark the situation may seem, Jesus
(F) 919-461-4958 Christ can bring the light of hope to see you through.

NCFOP@nc.rr.com I have experienced over and over again how Sharing The Hope we have in
Jesus can bring light where there is darkness. Just a few weeks ago I re-
Web Site sponded to New York City in reference to the terrorist attack by a person
www.ncfop.org that ran down bicyclists on the bike trail killing and injuring many. I was
able to talk with one person in particular who was a New Yorker. Later I dis-
President covered he was a NYC police officer. By taking the time to speak to him,
Randy Hagler sharing the hope we have in Jesus, and praying for him and his city and de-
rlhncfop@bellsouth.net partment, made a big difference to him. It brought light where there was
darkness. He told me he appreciated us being there and how it gave him
Immediate Past President strength.

I also met a lady that witnessed the bicyclists being run down. She was
terrymangum@frontier.com trying to give aid to some of the injured and discovered that they were al-
ready dead. Hearing the gun fire, people were telling her to run for cover.
Vice President She was not sure if the person in the truck was the shooter, so she ran and
Robert Gaddy hid in a doorway until someone came and found her. I met her about 4 days
rgaddyjr@yahoo.com after the event and she could not force herself to walk through where she
was on that sorrowful day. She came to me while I was at the scene, and told
Secretary me her story. I listened and talked with her. We walked where she gave aid,
Lynn Wilson and the hiding place she found in the doorway. I told her that coming to
smartsquid@aol.com grips with this would not be quick for her and would not be easy, but with
God's help she would get through this. I then prayed with her there at her
Treasurer hiding place. She said she felt peace and thanked me for taking the time to
Chet Effler talk and pray with her.

Unfortunately, many of us rely on personal strength to manage the crisis
2nd Vice President in our lives, instead of seeking out Christ and His strength to manage and see
James Shores us through the crisis. "Then spoke Jesus again unto them saying, I am the
light of the world; he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall
jshores@yahoo.com have the light of life." John 8:12
